Tom Daccord a former colleague at Nobles and the person who
once did landscaping for us at 261 Marrett Road (including distributing these 1,000,000 rocks)
has produced a wonderful Web site over the years at www.besthistorysites.net
Hyperhistory on the WebThis Web page shows a sample of the original World History Chart, and links to the award winning project. HyperHistory Online is based on the synchronoptic concept and can be regarded as a companion to the seminal World History Chart of Andreas Nothiger. The World History chart can be obtained from here (Nobles owns 5). HyperHistory Online is growing monthly until the project will encompass a
comprehensive synchronoptic display of human history for the last 3000 years.
SCORE History and

They Made America: PBS series (has timeline, innovators)-- "Find out about the extraordinary innovators whose ideas and entrepreneurial spirit gave birth to landmark advances like the steamboat and the 747 jetliner, and cultural touchstones like the Barbie doll and CNN. Rights Webquest poses the following simulation: You heard on the
evening new that a committee in Washington has met and decided to do
away with the Bill of Rights. The committee also announced that it will
hear testimony from anyone wishing to speak in defense of the Bill of
Rights and argue to keep it. Immediately you call your Congressman and
ask him what he is planning to do about this situation. He says he
represents you, what position do you want him to take?
of Rights Webquest II poses the following problem: You and your
partner will research information on your assigned amendment in the Bill
of Rights. After you research, you will complete a Bill of Rights' facts
and applications sheet for your amendment. Each group will present its
findings to the entire class.
World War II
A Decade of
Tension is a webquest about nations just prior to WWII and it poses
the following simulation: What we don't know or perhaps understand in
why the war happened. In 1939 did Hitler invade Czechoslovakia and
Poland because he was a power hungry fascist? Was the world still
recovering from post World War I losses? Did the depression in America
economically weaken the whole world, thereby making countries look
vulnerable? As future historians it is your job to gather facts and
assert your opinions. Could World War II have been prevented? Or was it
just a continuation of World War I? WebQuest News Network (WQNN) has
hired your group (consisting of two people) to thoroughly investigate
one nation. You are to focus on that nation in the time period beginning
in 1930 until their entrance into the war.
