Drawings and E-mail Evaluations (from Janice, Annie, Diane and Colleen)

Intro from Colleen (and friends) prior to our first VC meeting:

To the Summercore4 participants:
Hello! My name is Colleen Powers and I am one of your judges. Your work will also be judged by Janice Kushner Annie Leonie, and Diane Lemay.
We stand in awe, when we consider that you have taken time away from your busy schedules, and summer vacations to learn something new about computers and their uses.
I imagine that a lot of information will be presented to you and very short time, and you'll have to soak it up like a sponge! The use of the painting program (I still don't know which one you are using) presents a good variety of colors and tools you can use, so I am very anxious to see what you do with it -- go for it!

It's great to be able to participate in another Summercore! I like to be involved with Nobles' artistic journeys with teachers from our area, and out of our area. It's always important to me to see creative ways to see things, usage of color, and skillful use of tools -- by tools I mean those that are offered on the "Tool Bar" of the painting program that you are using. I haven't got much training in the use of the various painting programs. In fact, I have just started using Hyperstudio and Photoshop in the last 18 months. It seems like I'm learning things every time I use it!

Don't be afraid to put something down that isn't "artistically perfect" or capable of winning a first prize at an art show. The most important thing is to have fun and learn something at the same time!
