Eno Boards are interactive user-friendly electronic whiteboards without cords or cables that supports better teaching and learning (and also saves money!). The features an Eno has are magnetic ceramicsteel surface and projector to draw pictures and create lessons that can be used in the future which is an upgrade to a regular whiteboard. They can be used through grades K-12 and is accessible for anyone as long as there is an Eno Board in the classroom. It is possible to view created lessons the day after, or even years after, something a regular whiteboard cannot do. There are infinite possibilities for teaching including powerpoint presentations and web pages, works perfectly with markers, erases with ease, and creates more student participation. Teachers can teach students geography using Google Earth by using magnets to put on the capital cities of countries, for example.
Tips for Teaching:
The Eno Board pen will not work until its cap has been removed and the light that comes on turns off.
The magnetic tool palette can be taken off the board and used anywhere in the room.
The picture below is of the magnetic tool palette.
To access the digital whiteboard, tap the '<--' icon. To go back to the computer screen, tap the '-->' icon. The whiteboard has 5 pages.
The icon at the top of the magnetic tool palette switches the pen from writing mode to mouse cursor mode. If you click on the computer screen while in writing mode you can draw over what is on the screen.
To take a screenshot of the entire computer screen press command+shift+3. To take a screen shot of part of it press command+shift+4, then click and drag over what you want a picture of. It should end up on the desktop named "screenshot?" or "picture?".
You can write on an Eno Board with a normal white board marker.
Unlike SMART boards, the Eno Board pen is smart, not the board itself. The pen reads what is written with Bluetooth technology and there is a camera in its tip, which means if the board is not working it might be because the pen is upside down or its lense is dirty.
Easiteach is the Eno Board version of "notebook" for boards.
To add text to your page on easiteach, you need to be in edit mode.
As seen in the picture above, you should click on the T for Text button, immediately below the user mode button.
Click until you see a little box next to the cursor. (see picture above)
Click to select the object. You know the object is selected when you see the selection mark key. (See picture above)
After selecting something, you can type in your text. See picture below.
Caution, the easiteach above featured in the pictures might be different than the easiteach at Spence.
To see more of these tools for the Eno Board using easiteach, go to elearning.spenceschool.org and in seventh section of the summercore course, there is a button called Atomic Learning Tutorial on easiteach 3.5. In the B section, there are more tools for you to explore. (Remember: the username is spencestudent and password is learn)
