25 Years of Summercore (and more): The Summercore Slide Rule

For many years, we had a tradition of marathoners signing a 6 foot slide rule -- a symbol of the analog, non-digital world -- as they crossed the finish line at the end of 5 days. When told that students carried these devices around in the 1960s and used them to do math/science calculation, one Summerore intern commented: "They must have bumped each other a lot when walking in the hallways!"
